# TeleScribe FAQ

> Common questions about the Australian AI clinical scribe, pricing, data, regulatory positioning, and clinician support.

## How much does TeleScribe cost?

A$79 per month, billed monthly, with a 14-day free trial. No annual lock-in, no separate add-ons. Video consult and lit search (beta) are included in the standard subscription. Students and registrars get a 40% discount.

## Is patient data stored in Australia?

Yes. TeleScribe stores transcripts and clinical notes in an Australian-hosted Supabase database (Sydney region, ap-southeast-2). Audio is processed in memory and never written to disk. The owning company is Black Health Intelligence Pty Ltd (ABN 23 693 026 112), Australian-incorporated.

## Which clinicians can use TeleScribe?

Any AHPRA-registered Australian health professional — General Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Midwives, Psychologists, Counsellors, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Dietitians, Social Workers, Speech Pathologists, and more. 35+ clinician roles are supported.

## Does TeleScribe include video consultation?

Yes. Browser-to-browser video consult is included in the standard A$79/month subscription. No per-minute charges, no external platform, no add-on fee. Patients join via a public link with no login required.

## Is TeleScribe a medical device?

No. TeleScribe is a documentation aid only, aligned with the TGA Digital Scribes guidance (5 February 2026). It does not provide clinical decision support, diagnoses, or treatment recommendations. Every AI output is a draft requiring clinician review.

## How is TeleScribe different from Heidi Health and Lyrebird?

TeleScribe is A$79/month billed monthly, roughly 34% cheaper than Heidi Clinician (A$120/mo monthly) and approximately 67% cheaper than Lyrebird Pro (A$240/mo monthly). Video consult and lit search are included rather than sold as add-ons. Data is explicitly Australian-hosted. Full feature comparison at https://www.telescribe.com.au/comparisons.

## Can I use TeleScribe for Medicare telehealth consults?

Yes. TeleScribe includes TeleCheck — nine Medicare telehealth exemption pathways with audit-logged proformas that clinicians can approve per consult. TeleCheck cross-references patient postcode against Australian disaster-declaration data stored locally in Australia.

## What clinical tools are built in?

Thirteen validated clinical calculators: PHQ-9, K10, DASS-21, ASRS ADHD, EDE-Q, Epworth Sleepiness, Insomnia Severity Index, STOP-Bang, Australian CVD Risk, Greene Climacteric Scale, Menopause Rating Scale, BMI, and Pain Assessment. All with direct insertion into clinical notes.

## What happens to the audio after transcription?

Audio is processed in memory and discarded immediately after the transcript is returned. It is never written to disk.

## Does TeleScribe train AI on my patient data?

No. All AI providers (Deepgram, OpenAI, Anthropic, Groq) are contractually prohibited from training on TeleScribe’s patient data.

## Do you offer group discounts for clinics?

Yes. Practices of 3+ clinicians can request a group discount code. Email office@telescribe.com.au to request one.

## Do you offer a student or registrar discount?

Yes. Students and registrars get 40% off. The discount applies for the duration of your training.

## Does TeleScribe integrate with my EMR?

Integrations with Halaxy, Best Practice, and Medical Director are planned. Currently TeleScribe exports clinical notes as copyable text and PDF with letterhead, which works with any EMR.
